FAQs
The questions parents actually ask us.
If yours isn't here, call. We'd rather answer it out loud than have you guess.
Getting started
Applied Behavior Analysis is a research-based therapy that uses the principles of learning to understand and change behavior, primarily for individuals with autism or other developmental differences. In practice, that means using positive reinforcement to build helpful behaviors, teach new skills, and reduce behaviors that get in a child's way.
Call us or send the contact form. We'll ask a few questions about your child, check your insurance, and schedule an assessment with a BCBA — usually within a couple of weeks.
Most insurance plans require an autism diagnosis and a prescription or referral for ABA. If you don't have one yet, call anyway — we'll point you to providers who can help.
After the assessment, we write the plan and submit it for authorization. Most families start therapy within four to six weeks of their first call.
Services and support
Assessments and care planning, in-home and community support, school collaboration, and caregiver training in person or online. Every service starts from the same individualized plan.
With a highly individualized, trauma-informed care plan. We coordinate the same strategies across every environment your child moves through and collaborate directly with their other healthcare and educational providers, so nobody is working from a different playbook.
Childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. We adapt our approach to the developmental needs of each age, and our Lantern Life Academy day program serves adults specifically.
Cost and insurance
We are currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna. Call with your plan details and we'll help verify your benefits and tell you what your out-of-pocket cost would be before anything starts.
We'll tell you plainly. If you're covered outside Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, or Cigna, we offer private-pay rates and can talk through scholarship and grant options available in Florida.
No. We confirm authorization before sessions begin and send invoices through your member account, so you can see every charge.
What to expect
At home, in the community, at school where permitted, or wherever the skill actually needs to work.
It depends on the plan. Some children come a few hours a week; others need more intensive support. Your BCBA will recommend a number and explain why.
As involved as you can be. Caregiver training is part of every plan, in person or virtually, because the skills stick when they're practiced between sessions.
